1. What is BIG?
Big is an informal network of Bumiputera Angel Investors who are seeking good and profitable Bumiputera owned Bumiputera companies. It is an alternative channel to the existing funding availability from SME bank, banks and government aid.
2. Why was BIG set-up?
BIG was set-up to enable genuine Bumiputera investors help non-project based Bumiputera entrepreneurs grow. We recognize there is a deficiency in the current system which does not allow some entrepreneurs who are in the value chain but without government/corporate contract obtain seed funding in the early stages of their business.
While there are many high net worth Bumiputera wanting to invest and assist small business, there lack a professional platform and system to filter and profile the proposals; in other words, lack of structured opportunity. BIG would undertake that role in conjunction with ElixirConsult a professional business consulting company. Entrepreneurs on the other hand, do need funds to grow, but more importantly they need to have a genuine investment partner who could also guide them in their enterprise.
3. Who are the angel investors and entrepreneurs?

- Any high networth bumiputera individual with investment capacity above RM25,000

- Any bumiputera entrepreneur

Our focus is to groom entrepreneurs in the value chain of the economy and are actually producing and acquiring resources.
4. What is the expected returns?
Angel investors would invest mostly in equity, hence the return would be mostly in the form of profit that is attributable to their shares. We do not allow interest-based lending under this group, in any form. Let's really 'usaha' and accept that Allah determine our rezeki, in one form or another.
